We promote menstrual hygiene among young adolescent girls.
Menstruation is not a problem, poor menstrual hygiene is.
Period with pride is Aiding Lives Initiative for the Vulnerable’s adolescent health initiative focused on promoting safe, informed, and dignified menstruation among girls in underserved communities.
Following a situational analysis conducted across several disadvantaged communities, the ALIVE team discovered that many adolescent girls lack basic knowledge of menstrual hygiene. Menstruation in these settings is often surrounded by silence, shame, misinformation, and harmful social taboos, leaving girls unprepared, anxious, and vulnerable during their menstrual cycles.
We also distribute
Menstrual Hygiene Management kits to young adolescent girls in disadvantaged communities.
We key into the vision of a world where every vulnerable adolescent girl is able to manage her
menstruation in a hygienic way, in safety, privacy and dignity wherever they are.
In line with our commitment to promoting the health and well-being of vulnerable children, we provide menstrual hygiene education and practical training for adolescent girls.
Our sessions focus on helping girls understand their bodies, break myths, and learn how to manage menstruation safely and confidently.
