Promoting Proper Handwashing & Personal Hygiene

Clean Hands, Healthy Lives is Aiding Lives Initiative for the Vulnerable’s preventive health initiative focused on promoting proper handwashing and personal hygiene practices among women and children in underserved communities.
Many preventable diseases such as diarrhea, respiratory infections, and skin conditions continue to thrive in vulnerable settings — not because solutions are unavailable, but because basic hygiene knowledge and facilities are limited. In many communities, proper handwashing techniques are either unknown or not consistently practiced.

Through this program, ALIVE conducts practical handwashing and hygiene training using simple, culturally appropriate methods. We demonstrate the correct steps of handwashing, explain when and why handwashing is important, and promote the use of soap and clean water as essential tools for disease prevention.

We are creating a world where every vulnerable child can grow to adulthood in good health.

We believe that hand hygiene is one of the most cost-effective and powerful public health interventions. By equipping women and children with the knowledge and habits needed to keep their hands clean, we help reduce the spread of infections and improve health outcomes.
